Then come the calls, the forms, and the waitlists. People mention ABA, assessments, and service hours as if you already know what all of it means. You should not have to become an expert overnight.
Kinvara is being built to make this part feel clearer. We will explain what we see, answer questions honestly, and help you decide whether our care fits your child. Parents are part of the team from the first conversation.

Our commitments are straightforward: caseloads sized so supervision is genuinely possible, protected time for assessment and report writing, and service-hour recommendations that rest on clinical judgement rather than a billing target. Supervision hours for candidates working toward certification are supported, not squeezed in around the schedule.

Frequently asked questions
What is ABA therapy?
ABA stands for applied behavior analysis. In plain terms, it is a way of teaching skills by breaking them into small steps, practising them where they are actually used, and writing down what happens so you can see whether the teaching is working. Good ABA is built around goals your family picked — talking to a sibling, sleeping through the night, ordering at a counter. It is not a script that every child runs.
What ages do you serve?
When we open we plan to work with autistic children and teenagers, roughly toddler age through the mid-teens. Early years and school-age look quite different in practice, so tell us your child's age range on the waitlist form and we will be honest with you about what we can offer.
How many hours will my child need?
We do not know yet, and anyone who tells you a number before meeting your child is guessing. Hours come out of the assessment and out of your family's week. Some children do well with a few focused hours. Some need more. We recommend what the assessment supports, and we will explain the reasoning in language you can repeat to your partner.
What areas do you serve?
We are launching applied behavior analysis services in Iowa and Virginia. We plan to begin with families in and around Des Moines and Richmond, then reach more communities as our clinical teams grow.
What will it cost? Do you take insurance?
We are completing credentialing now, so we cannot claim to be in-network with any plan yet. That work is underway state by state. We will publish insurance details here as each one is confirmed, and everyone on the waitlist gets told directly. Until then we will not quote you a price we cannot stand behind.
When are you opening?
We are pre-credentialing and not yet accepting clients. Opening depends on credentialing and on hiring the right clinicians, which we are not going to rush. Joining the waitlist is the way to hear first — we will write to you when we have a real date for your state.
What is a BCBA?
A BCBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. They hold a master's degree, complete supervised fieldwork, and pass a national exam through the BACB. The BCBA runs the assessment, writes the plan, supervises the day-to-day sessions, and is the person accountable for your child's programme.
